Prices are going up, what's next?

Since Bob Iger has been back as CEO of the Walt Disney Company everyone has been happy to see the changes to come. He knows that the prices have gone up tremendously and Disney is now seen as a "Luxury vacation destination" which isn't what Walt wanted. With his return he was going to look at how to return things to normal as much as possible. We saw many good changes until recently. We all know that Disney used to have Fast Passes which was replaced with Genie+. Fast passes were, shocker, FREE and was way user friendly. Once they came out with this new payed service we were all upset but it had its pluses. This service prices and availability vary by date. Recently after Spring Break we saw the max price go up! Originally, the max price was 29 per person and it went up to 35! Now if it is very busy you will be paying 35 for each person in your group. THAT IS CRAZY EXPENSIVE! What could be next? It is sad to think that the happiest place on earth is very costl...

Things don't always go as planned: Hollywood Studios

So on our trip we did go to all four of the parks. We decided the first park we'd go to is Hollywood Studios! I had been once before but we got rained out and left so I technically hadn’t been there. Before arriving we planned out the whole day, which is a good thing, just remember plans don't always go as planned haha. So our plan was to buy genie + since almost all these rides were a must do for my friend and I. We also planned to rope drop Rise of the Resistance. So morning of, woke up EARLY got ready and headed to the busses. Side note I did make my first genie + reservation at 7am when it opened up for slinky Dog Dash since it is the most popular ride after Rise. Since we stayed on property we had free transportation and 30 minute early access to the park. So fast forward we're in the park lost and we need to find Rise as fast as we can. We checked the app and to our surprise it was closed. Now what? Well get in line for the first thing we see, Mickey and Minnies Runaway Railway. We got on it was great and when we got out it got colder and it had rained. We were not dressed for this kind of weather and wanted to head back to the hotel quickly to change, but Rise had just opened. We sucked it up and went to get in line. 70 minute posted wait, BUT we waited 40 and let me tell you it didn't feel like it. It felt like maybe 20 minutes. Sometimes posted waits aren't very accurate especially when they just open. They need to make a good estimate as to the time it will actually take. Thankfully what Disney likes to do is put the time higher than expectations so you will feel happier that you waited less time than super upset that you waited longer. The ride was awesome, have no clue what was going on but a must ride in my opinion. After we needed to go change so we left. Reminder you can re enter parks, don't worry. On our way back to our room we ran into Goofy and Donald just walking around. IN THEIR 50TH ANNIVERSARY GEAR. I almost yelled. As I was ready to leave my friend was so tired from the flight yesterday so he wanted to stay. I was not about to waste my day so I headed off on my adventure of exploring different resorts.
Sometimes with big families, even small ones, you will have people wanting to do other things and the best thing to do is split up. My favorite resort is Art of Animation and I decided to take the skyliner there since I had never used it before. So i took the bus back to the park and hopped on the skyliner to Art of animation. I walked the whole resort and then crossed over to Pop century that is connected to Art of Animation by a bridge. After all that walking I was getting thirsty and I wanted the 50th anniversary SIP-a-bration lemonade. So I headed to another resort called Animal Kingdom Lodge. This hotel is gorgeous I enjoyed my lemonade by the pool and even saw some animals while exploring the hotel. While I was having a great time I was also booking the lighting lanes so by that time we had 4 ready to go.
We came back and met up at the park to finish our day with many rides delicious food and MANY night time spectaculars. We saw all 3, Wonderful World of Animation, Disney Movie Magic, and Fantasmic. WOW. Something for everyone truly. Fantasmic is probably my favorite night time show. It was great and 30 minutes. The other two were about 10 minutes with little to no fireworks. They also have the Becon of magic for the 50th! make sure you don't miss that! We had a wonderful time even though we did split up. It may have seemed like I just told you about what we did BUT I did give you MANY MANY tips. So lets go over them,
  1. PLAN PLAN PLAN
  2. Plans don't always go as planned and that is OK
  3. Start the day early to get the most out of it
  4. Take extra clothes and a poncho just in case the weather changes
  5. You can make your reservations for lightning lanes @ 7am
  6. You will need to wait 2 hours to book the next one (unless you check in before the 2 hours)
  7. ROPE DROP
  8. It is ok to split up
  9. You can re enter the park you were at (if you have a park hopper ticket make sure you enter the other park before re entering the original one)
  10. You can have fun at other places besides the parks
  11. There is magic everywhere
